Reusable Lunch Bags Staff Review: Snack Tote vs. Insulated Therm-o-Snack

We offer lots of reusable lunch bags to print your logo on. For the most part, it’s fairly easy to spot the differences between them (material, shape, size, etc). However, we have two bags—the Snack Tote and the Insulated Therm-o-Snack—that seem pretty similar on the surface. In this staff review, we explain the differences so you can decide which is the better fit for your organization’s needs.  Continue reading

Want an Insulated Reusable Bag at a Great Price? Our Therm-o-Tote Fits the Bill

Therm-o-Tote insulated reusable bagWe love the insulated, durable Therm-o-Tote. Seriously. It’s such a great bag that you would think it would come at a higher price.

The Therm-o-tote is constructed in a similar fashion to our Big Thunder Grocery Tote. Both feature 100 gsm nonwoven polypropylene for strength and full wraparound handles for durability. Both also have a bottom insert.

Pair all of that with an insulated lining, and you have a great bag for grocery shopping, picnics, the beach—or anywhere you need to keep food or drink warm or cold. Our staff reviewer uses the Therm-o-Tote insulated reusable bag for all of the above! Just don’t forget to wash it inside-out in warm, soapy water or spray the inside and wipe it down.

Staff Reviews are Back! The Standard Grocery Bag vs. The Non Woven Carry-All

standard_grocery_bag_80_gsmOur staff reviews are back! Did you miss them? We hope so!  This go around, we’re looking at two popular nonwoven polypropylene grocery bags. At first glance, our Standard Grocery Bag appears to be similar to our Non Woven Carry-All, but they’re really very different bags.

The Standard Grocery Bag is made from 80 GSM nonwoven polypropylene, and has a bottom insert for stability.   The handle construction, with a reinforced band at top (see photo), allows for a wider imprint than some of our other nonwoven polypropylene bags, and you can even specify a PMS color for no additional charge. This bag can also be delivered quickly without rush charges. If you’re on a tight timeframe, we can most likely get this bag to you in time!

Bulletin Bag Staff Reviews: July 20

DEBNW4733-purple_560x560Every week we pick two of our reusable bags and have our staff members put them through the wringer. We’ll comment on the outcomes here (and encourage our clients to do the same!). This week, we’ve chosen our Folding Snap Nonwoven Tote and Large Nonwoven Folding Reusable Bag.

These two bags are popular due to their budget-conscious price point and portability. The Folding Snap Nonwoven Tote is a bit smaller (16″w x 14″h x 3-1/2″d) than the Large Nonwoven Folding Reusable Bag (15″w x 18-3/4″h x 7-1/2″d), but that’s where the differences end.

Bulletin Bag Staff Reviews: July 12

thunder_1Every week we pick two of our reusable bags and have our staff members put them through the wringer. We’ll comment on the outcomes here (and encourage our clients to do the same!). This week, we’ve chosen our best-selling Little Thunder Grocery Tote and Big Thunder Grocery Tote .

We love the “Thunder Totes.” They are by and large our most popular bags due to the quality of the material, durable design and budget-conscious price point. The Little Thunder Grocery Tote , (12”w x 13”h x 8”d), is smaller than the Big Thunder (13”w x 15”h x 10”d), but that’s where the differences end.

The Little Thunder and Big Thunder are made from heavy-duty 100 GSM non-woven polypropylene. Most non-woven polypropylene reusable grocery bags will weigh between 70 and 100 GSM (the larger the number, the higher the density and durability). It’s also worth noting that not all nonwoven polypropylene is the same. While GSM is a measure of density, it’s not a measure of the quality of the polypropylene itself. The Big Thunder and Little Thunder totes use the highest quality, most consistent polypropylene we’ve seen.

Are Reusable Bags Really Better for the Environment?

Not too long ago the Wall Street Journal published and article called An Inconvenient Bag.  The article talks about the reusable bag movement and questions this latest green trend.  While the article points to many valid and important reasons to replace paper and plastic with reusable bags, the argument against reusable bags seems to have gained the favor of the blogosphere and led many to question whether this is just another case of greenwashing.

It’s absolutely true that not all reusable bags are created equal.  Some are made locally , some are made overseas, some are organic , some are hemp , some use pesticides, some are made from post consumer recycled materials and some are even made from virgin plastics that may or may not be recyclable. (….)
