Essentially, we are bleeding the Earth for the 10-minute use of a plastic bag.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/flyer-copyweb1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-342\" alt=\"flyer-copyweb1\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/flyer-copyweb1.jpg\" width=\"578\" height=\"947\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bulletinbag.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/flyer-copyweb1.jpg 578w, https:\/\/www.bulletinbag.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/flyer-copyweb1-183x300.jpg 183w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 578px) 100vw, 578px\" \/><\/a><!--more-->We\u2019ve found the best way to leave the grocery store without any plastic is to literally tell the bagger, \u201cI\u2019m trying not to take any plastic or paper today so feel free to load up my reusable bags.\u201d\u00a0 It also helps if you designate one bag specifically for certain items, hand it to the bagger and say, \u201cYou can use this bag for the meat, and I\u2019ll wash it when I get home.\u201d\u00a0 Specify bags for produce, frozen foods, dairy, etc.<\/p>\n<p>How can you help reduce the use of plastic bags? Carry reusable bags in your car, purse, or pocket and USE THEM. Encourage your local politicians to support legislation taxing or banning plastic bags.
